As part of the European Year of volunteering we are delivering a series of free online training sessions

Susan J Ellis of Energize Inc. http://www.energizeinc.com/ says “It takes a Whole Organisation” to truly involve volunteers effectively. But, in reality, is this what really happens?

In our next national webinar broadcast for managers of volunteers and volunteer-involving organisations, we will explore why Volunteer Managers themselves have to take the lead in influencing a wider ownership of volunteer management, both within their own organisations and beyond.

Focusing on:
•	How we can influence more effectively – tips for a successful approach
•	Why it’s so important that we do this as a profession – and what it means if we don’t
•	Developing a voice for volunteer management – as individuals and collectively
•	Sharing successes, inspiration and insight!

Featuring examples from experienced volunteer managers in the field, plus your ideas by providing a platform for debate and discussion.

Book your free place today. We look forward to you joining us!

What is Volunteering?

Volunteering is about choosing to give some time to help others, for no financial reward. You can get involved in a wide variety of activities with different organisations and groups, at a time and place that suits you.

Everybody has something to offer, whether it is experience of life, a caring personality or a useful skill. Many organisations rely on the help provided by their volunteers and they really value and appreciate their contribution.

Why do people volunteer?

People volunteer at all ages and for many different reasons, such as to learn new skills, to take up a new interest, to gain confidence or for a change in career.

What opportunities are available?

There are hundreds of volunteering opportunities available in the Warrington area. We have information on a wide range of volunteering opportunities. You can find one that will match what you have to offer, whether it is experience of life, a caring personality or a useful skill.

How can the Volunteer Centre help me to get started?

We have developed strong relationships with organisations in Warrington and this enables us to offer you a wide variety of volunteering opportunities.

The best place to start is by logging onto the national volunteering database. Here you can search by town or postcode, or by looking for a specific area of volunteering such as administration, environment, retail, youth work and many, many more. Click here to have a look for yourself at the many different opportunities available…

Alternatively, you can call us on 01925 246880 for help and advice, or to find out more information.
